Bluegrass Conservancy, based in Lexington, has recently merged with Limestone Land Trust, in Louisville, to create the largest regional, accredited land trust in Kentucky. Now Bluegrass Land Conservancy, the newly expanded service area spans the state’s two most populated metropolitan areas and covers the very best farmland in the region with 25,792 acres of natural and cultural resources already protected. This merger is a bold move to protect the Bluegrass Region for current and future generations, with a focus on prime farmland soils, scenic open space, water resources, natural areas. rural heritage, and, of course, agricultural viability.
Proceeds from the event, which continues to be Bluegrass Land Conservancy’s primary fundraiser, are critical in our ability to assist local families across the Bluegrass region conserve their land.
